Themselves they will not see. A Poem

via Daily Prompt: Candid

I’ve been told, I am direct, blunt and open

Not afraid to call a spade a spade

Bordering on, too outspoken

Many friends, they did not stay

I’ve been told, I am a mirror

Themselves they will not see

They think I’m frank in error

And do not hear my plea

I am balsy and straightforward

To get the point across

Life is too damn short

With too much bloody loss

There’s a reason why I’m candid

My honesty is clear

Truth, if you can stand it

Will dissipate your fear
